Chris Henry, the former stand-up comedian and self-taught artist, is thrilled to announce his first exhibition, titled "Chris Henry: The Next Stage". The exhibition will feature a total of 45 unique images, presented in celebration of Henry's 45th birthday. The exhibition will have a variety of abstract acrylic paintings and a selection of prints from his Loch Nerds digital collection, which fuses his love of both geek and Scottish pop culture.
Henry's unique style blends evolving techniques with contemporary concepts, resulting in captivating pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful. His acrylic paintings on canvas capture emotions that are sure to resonate with viewers of all backgrounds.
"I'm excited to share this part of myself with the world," says Henry. "My paintings reflect my personal journey and I hope they resonate with others as well. Walking away from stand-up comedy and trying to build a more stable life has been a lot to process, loss, joy, and identity crisis, this exhibition explores how I’ve used art to channel it all."
Henry's Loch Nerds digital collection combines his love of geek and Scottish pop culture. These prints cross Star Wars with Tunnocks, Marvel with Barrs and many more, creating excitingly colourful prints with Henrys cheeky humour at the centre.
The combination of his abstract paintings and pop culture prints is truly unique and offers something for everyone to experience the depth and diversity of his work.
Henry has already sold paintings and prints around the world, and this exhibition is a unique opportunity for art lovers to see his work in person. Don't miss out on this highly anticipated exhibition, as it is only available for two days on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July at the New Glasgow Society in Finnieston.
