The Parrot

I was walking around the Burrell Collection and saw a beautiful parrot painted as part of The Aviary Clifton by Joseph Crawhall and it made me wonder how I could capture the beauty of a parrot using the simplest of shapes. 

I loved creating the different types of feathers in each section, as well as having the white paint moving in one direction to create a sense of movement. 

Every time I look at this it makes me happy, and is one of the paintings I will be sad to see go, but hope it flys off to somewhere nice.
